Description :

The impression of freshness and energy that radiates from Carson’s painting comes, in part, from the sparkle and purity of the colours, harmonized in their rhythmic juxtaposition and lightened by breaks of white.
The generally diagonal or elliptical arrangement of the elongated dabs of paint seems to arise from a mysterious inspiration, doubtless discreet but effective, that gives life to the composition.
It is also fascinating to see how the painting, without resorting to the artifices of perspective, creates an original depth by giving the illusion of a continual quivering on the surface, of a curve of the visual space, and of a mobility of the planes by the energetic yet harmonious arrangement of masses.

By Guy Robert, Writer, historian and art critic, doctor of Aesthetics (University of Paris).

Giclée on canvas :

« The word giclée: (very small ink drop) is used to describe the high quality of print made with this technology. It is a process to print your fine art in a numeric way. You can print on canvas, on watercolor paper, photo paper or poster paper.

The giclée print process give you a great color rendering and a superior print quality compare to other traditionnal printing method.

Giclée
APA Definition*

A 20 th-century digital print medium emanating from Iris print technology. "giclée" has become a generic term for a wide variety of digital print technologies found within the fine art market.Digital prints have found favor among artists and publishers because of accurate reproduction quality, print-on-demand capability and because the best giclée prints do not exhibit a digital signature, i.e., banding, dot patterns or other typical signs of commercial digital prints.

Process
According to Dennis Elliot, marketing director at Kolibri Art Studio, a technician first makes a digital scan of the image to be reproduced. This file opened on a computer running a digital imaging program such ad Adobe Photoshop, In preparation for printing, a digital technician prints a proff. The artist then inspects this image so he can correct any problems and make any alterations. It is at this stage that Elliott sees the true potential of giclée. Artists can manipulate the digital technology as if it were a brand new medium. For example, he has one artist who "makes a print from a photograph of a sculpture and then creates different backgrounds of colors, doing a Warhol effect."
Once the artist finishes working with the proof, the file is sent to an ink-jet printer so the entire edition can be printed. The finished prints are then reviewed by in-house artists trained in quality control. »
